About Us



Ted Hersey - Bio

Ted Hersey is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) with over ten years’ expertise in computer forensics, network security, and data recovery analysis. He has regularly performed forensic imaging and analysis of PCs, laptops, mobile devices and servers in cases ranging from 100s of computers to a single PC. These forensics examinations have covered legal areas such as employment, intellectual property, data theft, network attacks, trade secrets, and inappropriate computer usage.

He had lent his expertise to the Taiwan Central Intelligence Bureau and trained with Hong Kong Corporate Crime police officers at the HK University of Science and Technology.  Mr. Hersey recently served as a consultant to internet-based bond trading firms and spearheaded the effort to develop and implement security policies and oversight measures.  Prior to his foray into IT security, Mr. Hersey spent a decade engineering and deploying enterprise IT infrastructures.  In addition, Mr. Hersey teaches Computer Security, Firewall Design, Malware Analysis, and Computer Legal Issues at the University of New Haven, Graduate Department of Criminal Justice.

Ted is trained in multiple computer forensics tools (including EnCase, FTK, and Magnet Axiom and IEF) and has trained with the SANS Institute in virus analysis, memory forensics and incident detection and response. He is experienced in issues including the analysis and recovery of deleted digital evidence; encryption; email and Instant Messaging; and network and IT security.
